The MSC Poesia arrived in Port Everglades recently to begin its inaugural season of Caribbean sailings.
Itineraries of three, five, seven, eight and 10 nights will be offered throughout the Caribbean and to Bermuda during the winter season before Poesia returns to Europe in spring 2010.
MSC Poesia features 1,275 staterooms, of which 80% are outside staterooms and 65% have a balcony.
Guests can enjoy two pools and four hot tubs, a 1,170-sq.-m. spa, and four restaurants, including a Sushi Bar themed restaurant.

Cruise West offers deals for families
Cruise West has announced that kids ages 18 and under will now pay 50% of the adult rate and kids ages two or younger will travel for free on all voyages.
The cruise company says it is taking the “unprecedented step” in order to give families the opportunity to share special lifetime events that will create lasting memories.
“Our goal in introducing the new kids rates is to attract families with inquisitive kids who yearn for the rich educational and enrichment focus of Cruise West's itineraries,” said Dietmar Wertanzl, president & CEO.

ACL expanding to the West Coast
American Cruise Lines will start operating 7-night itineraries aboard the recently acquired Queen of the West, on the Columbia and Snake Rivers in 2010.
The Queen of the West is a 120-passenger, U.S. flagged cruise ship and currently the only authentic paddlewheel, over-night passenger vessel, operating in North America.
American Cruise Lines plans to announce plans for even further expansion to the west coast in early 2010.
ACL is planning several different itineraries that will depart from Portland, Oregon and Clarkston, Washington, starting in the summer of 2010.
Stops along the route will include the Columbia River Gorge, Multonomah Falls, Mt. St. Helen’s, The Dalles, Hells Canyon and Astoria.
