Quebec City-area sister resorts Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham have new features and offers for the upcoming ski season.
Stoneham will see the total of number of trails reach 39 this season, with new trails in place. There will be 39 for day skiing and 19 (up from 16) for night skiing.
The Olympic half-pipe at Stoneham will open Dec. 20. The earlier opening results from an $800,000 investment.
Hotel Stoneham, found at the base of the resort, is now part of RCR family and the resort is in the process of bringing the hotel up to the RCR-quality standards by renovating and changing certain elements. “This is great news for visitors – a more integrated offer on ski-and-stay packages will be available,” the resort says.
New will be the St-Edmond lounge, which will offer a more “relaxed atmosphere than the wild Quatre-Foyers Bar,” the resort continues. The St-Edmond will have a “great” section of wine by the glass and a tapas menu.
Those who book early for a stay in the area can save 20%, with rates starting at $298 for a three-night stay. A four-night stay that includes the 20% rebate is $392 per person.
“This package deal is available throughout our lodging partners, either in a ski-in/out hotel, a condo or even in the middle of the action in downtown Quebec, located 30 minutes away from the resort.”
Price is per person, double occupancy, for a three-night stay, including a three-day lift ticket. Taxes and gratuities are extra and the offer isn’t valid between Dec. 25 and Jan. 3, 2010.

Meanwhile, the aXions discount card can be bought for $25 in any sports shop in the Quebec City area or at the customer service desk of both Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham until Dec. 26.
Cardholders get a $10 discount on any day or evening lift ticket at either mountain; ski for $17 every Wednesday evening of the season at either mountain; on their sixth visit get a 50% discount on a day lift ticket or a free evening lift ticket at either mountain; get a free equipment tune-up worth $26 at the Sports Alpins shop; get rebates at all food courts, pubs, bars and shops at both resorts; and get exclusive invitations for certain events, such as designated VIP sections during World Cup events and free cover charge at parties.
