Belize seeks summer visitors online
9-June-2008

The Belize Tourism Board is promoting Belize as a summer destination and suggesting those interested in vacationing in the country in the next few months visit www.summerinbelize.com, a web site that highlights vacation packages for individuals, families, couples and honeymooners.

The site details summer specials and has travel information to assist vacationers in planning their trip.

The following are some of the deals and packages featured on the site:

Situated in the jungle, Jaguar Paw Jungle Resort is suited for those looking for thrills. Activities such as aerial trek zip-lining, river cave tubing, crystal cave spelunking, rock climbing, rappelling, night safaris, bird watching, nature trail hiking, moonlight zip-lining and Zorbing are all available on the property.

The resort has 16 rooms that are each decorated in original styles and also features a bar and restaurant. Visitors this summer season can take advantage of getting the fourth night free. (www.jaguarpaw.com)

Almond Beach Resort and Spa is located in the Stann Creek District on the mainland coast. The luxury resort is close to national parks, Mayan ruins, and diving and fishing.

Its Family Adventure Summer Package runs July through October and includes accommodations, three adventure excursions, full meal package and in-country flights/transfers to the property. Two adults and two children can spend a seven-day summer vacation at Almond Beach for US$3,880. In addition, mothers will receive a spa voucher valued at US$90. (www.almondbeachbelize.com)

Found on a palm-lined beach on the Caribbean a mile south of San Pedro Town, Xanadu Island Resort offers accommodation in one-, two- and three-bedroom condominium suites with views of the pool, garden or ocean. Activities such as snorkelling, diving, sailing, fishing, kayaking, bird watching and bicycling are available. As well, eco-tours to the rainforest, jungle and Mayan ruins can also be arranged.

Through Aug. 31, guests can take advantage of a summer package that allows those who book six nights to receive the seventh free, or book five nights and receive a 10 per cent discount. (www.xanaduresort-belize.com)
